Ediciones Pelo Malo (Cartonera) started as a personal project willing to cultivate more readers by making books more attractive, using mainly visual tools, such as design and illustration and selling them at a low cost.
Cartonera, a social, political and artistic publishing movement that began in Argentina in 2003...seemed the perfect vehicle to pursue this goal. On the other hand, Acción Poética is a movement started by the mexican poet Armando Alanís.
He states that the fact people doesn´'t read poetry, doesn't mean they dont need it... with this in mind he started writing verses on the walls of abandoned houses and buildings, which also became one of the goals of Ediciones Pelo Malo (Cartonera)
Now it is much more than a publishing house, it´s a multidisciplinary project that have done workshops, storytelling, open mics, campaigns and different types of public interventions. I keep taking care of all the design part, the rest of the team includes 2 writers and 2 actresses.

In Ediciones Pelo Malo (Cartoneras) we believe poetry should no longer stay trapped inside the walls of institutions. It must be liberated, we take it to the streets, invade the city and make it part of our celebrations, our protest, our companion on the way to work, our way of fighting against dehumanization.
